New Pool Room in Holland
Shooters, a new Holland pool room, sports bar and Asian food restaurant was opened on February on 143 Douglas Ave, Holland, Michigan. Founded and co-owned by Casey Lim, who previously owned and operated Q Stick Cafe pool hall at 661 24th St., Shooters was built on the grounds of a former restaurants.
Opening a pool room was a natural career choice for Casey Lim, a Cambodian refuge who'd arrived with his mother and 5 brothers to Holland in 1979. After spending his youth playing pool at the local 8 Billiards and going through 10 years business management training at a family owned business in California, Lim has returned to his hometown aiming to join together two of his chief interests and open a pool hall of his own.
First, he opened Q Stick Café, a pool room and a coffee shop and later formed an American Pool Players Association league in the place. After selling the venue, Lim has purchased a local restaurant, collaborated with Kamlesh Patel, a former general manager from the plastic industry, and spent $500,000 and 3 months renovating it and turning it into a 5,000-square-foot pool room, sports bar and Asian restaurant.
Shooters is open since last February. Its flexible opening hours – the pool room is open everyday from 7 am to late at night – the place sets an alternative to other Holland pool rooms and gains popularity among the city's night workers.
Shooters opens daily from 7 am to 2:30 am and serves Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes.
